This scene is from the 1993 edition of Kathy’s book My New York. The Plaza is Kathy’s favorite building in NYC and every now and then she just has to paint it. This painting depicts Central Park and the skyline along the West Side, including the Carousel and many famous building in the background such as the Dakota. The Plaza sits on the busy intersection of 5th Ave and Central Park South. The fountain in front is decorated for the holidays, across from a statue of General Sherman. Kathy’s parents are driving the copper colored station wagon.
