Introducing our first ever REMOTE Blooms Benefit and Auction

The spread of the COVID-19 virus is impacting countless individuals and disrupting our daily routines. We understand that you — our children, current and alumni families, trustees and longtime supporters, new friends, partner organizations, and faculty and staff — are being affected and we share your concerns about public health and safety.

In the current environment it would not be responsible for us to host the in-person LearningSpring Blooms Benefit, scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at Tribeca Rooftop; therefore, that event will be transformed into our first ever Remote Benefit and Auction.

We are fortunate to announce that all of our sponsors have converted their table purchases to donations, and our honoree Bruce Mosler remains committed to our school. Over the next several weeks leading up to April 28, Mr. Mosler will join LSS as we inform, entertain and inspire you via social media and online, all in support of our students who have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum.

Here’s where we are: We’ve raised almost $260,000 and we have roughly $200,000 left to go, which is what LearningSpring needs to raise to meet our fiscal requirements. Unfortunately, we will lose many ticket purchases that we usually receive after the invitation is mailed, but our Remote Blooms Benefit offers you the opportunity to purchase 100% tax-deductible Virtual Tickets to enjoy from the comfort of your own home. Last year, we raised about $145,000 at the event through auction purchases and additional donations, which will be a challenge to recover, but through creative outreach, we believe we can encourage and remind you to support the event leading up to April 28.

So essentially, we need you more than ever before!

Please remember that the Blooms Benefit is how we bridge the gap between what the state provides and what it actually costs LearningSpring to educate our students, and this event raises approximately 40% of what we need to operate every year. We invest more in our students to provide a unique education and therapeutic strategies in order to prepare each child to participate in the wider community, and not meeting our financial needs puts us at risk of not being the innovative organization that we need to be.

If you planned on buying a ticket, bidding on the auction items and/or giving an additional donation please do so. We hope that you will support at the same level that you intended to give around the Blooms event. If you would like to give now, please visit learningspring.org/blooms.

Despite the COVID-19 crisis, we remain positive and also creative in our support for our students and their families during this unusual time.

We understand this is disappointing for many who come to our event to celebrate the LearningSpring family and to support the LearningSpring mission. On behalf of LearningSpring, we appreciate your understanding and your commitment to our wonderful children and their families.

We’ll be in touch very soon.

Very best,

James Snyder
